Dupuytren Spectrum Diseases

Dupuytren Spectrum Diseases include Dupuytren, Ledderhose, Peyronie, and Frozen Shoulder. They tend to cluster: people with one of these diagnoses are at greater risk of others. This suggests that these share a common genetic origin, or possibly are simply different faces of one disease. For example, people with a family history of Dupuytren disease are more likely to develop Ledderhose disease. Because of their close demographic correlation, these four diseases are likely local manifestations of an underlying systemic disorder which has yet to be identified.

Dupuytren Overlap Diseases

Dupuytren Overlap Diseases include pulmonary fibrosis, scleroderma, cirrhosis of the liver, psoriasis, keloid, and others. These either have biologic parallels such as pulmonary fibrosis, scleroderma, keloid, or cirrhosis, or may occur together such as psoriasis which increases the risk of Dupuytren. Overlap diseases may not be directly related, but research on one may provide insights on another. The selected publications focus on biological features rather than treatment of Dupuytren overlap diseases.
